WHAT IS THE RIM TO RIM HIKE?

The Rim to Rim hike is an iconic 22-mile trek from the South to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon featuring:

  • Over 10,000 feet of elevation change (~4500 ft down, ~5500 ft up)

  • Temperatures between 40°F and 100°F

  • Stunning plateaus, switchbacks & river crossings

Along the way, you’re surrounded by the awe-inspiring geology of one of the world’s greatest natural wonders.

The Trail to Transformation is an end-to-end guided program designed to prepare you for a safe and successful Rim to Rim hike. With expert coaching, a structured training plan, and a supportive team, you’ll build the strength and confidence to conquer this bucket-list challenge in October 2025.

THE CHALLENGE

Take on a 22-mile trek through the Grand Canyon, with over 10,000 feet of elevation change, demanding temperature shifts and endless switchbacks.

THE TRAINING

Follow a 7-month training plan designed to build your strength, endurance, and confidence, ensuring you’re fully prepared to complete the hike safely and successfully.

THE COACHING

Get expert guidance and coaching by way of 14x bi-weekly group calls, where you’ll receive actionable advice, motivation, and strategies to stay on track.

You're not alone. Work along side a team of like-minded adventurers who will inspire, encourage, and share this incredible journey with you from start to finish.

We'll hike at night under starry skies, as headlamps bounce in the distance. Then watch the canyon walls glow at sunrise, and cool off in the refreshing canyon waters.

TOMMY GEARY

I coach high-performing men gain focus, clarity, and hit hard-to-reach goals. I spent 15 years hiking in the mountains in Colorado and have guided men on their first backpacking trips as well as their most difficult hikes.

I believe that when we have a challenge to work toward, we level up in every area of life. I've witnessed this while helping guys prep mentally and physically to run marathons, Spartan races and more. The benefits go way beyond the physical transformation.

CRAIG SPEAR

I’m a coach with a passion for tackling tough challenges and helping others do the same. From completing Ironmans to marathons and ultramarathons, I know firsthand what it takes to push limits and achieve the extraordinary.

I’ve coached clients to achieve their own incredible goals—everything from climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to swimming across Lake Ontario. My approach combines expert training, mindset development, and personalized support to help people transform their performance as well as their confidence and belief in what’s possible.

DATES AND TRAVEL

 

  • MONDAY, MARCH 31: BIG HIKE #1 – To be optimally prepared for the hike in October, we're going to complete 2 big hikes in training. This is the first one!

  • MONDAY, JUNE 30: BIG HIKE #2 – This last of our big training hikes, this one will be a solid test.

  • MONDAY, OCTOBER 6: First day to arrive in Phoenix, AZ. Coaches will fly in this day and stay the night in Phoenix.

  • TUESDAY, OCTOBER 7: Second day to arrive in Phoenix, AZ. (please book an early arrival flight). Leave for Flagstaff/Grand Canyon area around 12PM local time. Brief stop in Sedona. Stay the night in Flagstaff or Tusayan.

  • WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 8: Spend the day resting or touring around the South Rim. 
    Drive to hike at 11:30PM.
    Begin hike at midnight.

  • THURSDAY, OCTOBER 9: Complete Rim to Rim hike. Travel back to South Rim by shuttle. Drive and spend the night in Tusayan or Flagstaff.

  • FRIDAY, OCTOBER 10: Travel back to Phoenix, AZ. Spend the night.

  • SATURDAY, OCTOBER 11: Fly home.
